Youth Advisory Panel Conference

Sept 12, Saipan public school students and CNMI PSS staff met for the fall meeting of the Youth Advisory Panel. The Youth Advisory Panel works with the Commissioner of Education on matters that concern students in our schools. These matters include the development of school wide programs, student programs, and school community programs which addresses both the short and long term needs of the Public School System students.  Student members of the Youth Advisory Panel have the opportunity to identify and advocate for the needs of our youth in our school communities, identify and carry out events and activities system wide which are important to students, and create and foster cultural relations in the communities served by the CNMI Public School System on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.

A student registering with Lady Dianne Torres Foundation at Cooperative Job Fair

On Sept 7, CNMI PSS hosted the 2017 Fall Cooperative Education Job Fair at World Resort helping to connect high school students with local employers that are offering training and employment opportunities. Over 70 students from all Saipan public high schools attended the Job Fair to meet and interview with these local employers as part of their Cooperative Education course at their high school.

We would like to thank all our community partners who were present for making this event successful. Although we were not able to post all the photos because of the upload limitations, please know that we appreciation and treasure each and everyone of you.

Students and parents of students interested in participating in Cooperative Education in the spring term of this school year should contact their high school’s counselors to ask about registration in their high school’s Cooperative Education course.
