The T&FASEG Program is a Federal Grant program that supports projects to raise student achievement through direct educational services. Grants are awarded to Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) in the U.S. Territories (CNMI, Guam, American Samoa, U.S. Virgin Islands and the Republic of Palau). Funds may be used to carry out teacher training activities, curriculum development, the development or acquisition of instructional materials and general school improvement and reform with priority in reading and math literacy and teacher quality.
The CNMI Public School System’s T&FASEG Project goal and objectives are: To enhance teacher quality and student achievement in (a) Reading Literacy and (b) Mathematics to increase the percent of students performing at or above proficiency on the CNMI Standards Based Assessment in: (a) Reading, Grades 4, 8 and 11 by at least 18% by the end of 2012 to meet the 2014 district goal and (b) Math, Grades 3, 7, and 10 by at least 18% by the end of 2012 to meet the 2014 district goal with the following annual objectives:
To increase the percent of students performing at or above proficiency on the CNMI Standards Based Assessments in Reading and Math as shown below:

At the end of the third year, 59% of 4th grade students will perform at proficient or advance with the following annual goals:
