The Public School System provides Special Education and Related Services to eligible students 3 to 21 years old as authorized by Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act 2004 (IDEA) and Early Intervention Services, Part C, to infants and toddlers with disabilities or developmental delays birth to three years old and their families.

Special Education and Related services are funded by federal and local appropriations and are used for direct and support services, meeting personnel needs and to implement a statewide service system designed to improve results for all children.
