Strategic Priorities Plus One

In 1998, the CNMI Public School System (PSS) developed four strategic priorities that set the direction of the school system’s progress. The strategic priorities are updated on an annual basis and embedded in the school district’s improvement plan including individual school’s action plan through the accreditation process. The Commissioner of Education, Dr. Rita A. Sablan in consultation with the School Leadership and her leadership staff at Central Office updated the priorities in August 2009. Hence, the Strategic Priorities PLUS One was updated to include the fifth priority which is the “Parental Involvement and Community Partnership.”

The Strategic Priorities PLUS One are:

  • High Student Performance
  • Highly Qualified and Quality Personnel
  • Safe and Orderly Schools
  • Effective and Efficient Operations
  • Partnership with Parents, Families and Community
